Position Overview
Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking a seasoned Senior Commercial Lender to join their esteemed client's team in Maryland. This role involves managing and expanding a diverse portfolio of commercial loans and requires a professional who is adept at developing business strategies, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with lending policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
Responsible for originating, managing, and servicing a diverse commercial loan portfolio, including:
- Commercial Real Estate
- Investment Real Estate
- Construction Lending
- Working Capital Facilities
- Operating Lines of Credit
- Small Business Lending
- Middle-Market Commercial Lending
- Asset-Based Lending
Develops and executes business development and marketing strategies designed to retain existing clients and generate new lending and deposit relationships. Independently analyzes financial information to evaluate borrower qualifications, assess creditworthiness, and structure appropriate financing solutions.
Prepares financial analyses, underwriting packages, and credit recommendations while ensuring compliance with organizational lending policies, guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Originate and manage commercial lending relationships.
- Analyze financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, collateral, and other credit information.
- Prepare financial spreads and complete comprehensive loan underwriting.
- Present credit recommendations to lending and credit approval committees.
- Maintain and expand relationships within an assigned commercial portfolio.
- Conduct annual reviews, loan renewals, site visits, and ongoing risk assessments.
- Monitor portfolio performance and recommend appropriate risk rating adjustments.
- Develop and maintain referral networks with accountants, attorneys, commercial real estate professionals, and other business advisors.
- Cross-sell treasury management, deposit products, and other business financial services where appropriate.
- Participate in collection and workout activities when delinquency issues arise.
- Represent the organization at business events, networking functions, industry conferences, and community engagements.
- Deliver presentations and educational sessions related to business banking and commercial lending services.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Performance Expectations
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Develop and close a significant volume of new commercial loan production annually, subject to established underwriting standards and credit approval requirements.
- Generate meaningful growth in commercial deposit relationships.
- Build a robust pipeline of lending opportunities through business development and referral activities.
- Maintain high portfolio quality and strong client retention.
- Be able to generate $10M of new loans (excluding participations) within the first year.
- Generate a minimum of $1,500,000.00 annually in business deposits.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Advanced degree or professional designation is a plus.
Experience
- Five (5) or more years of commercial lending and/or credit analysis experience required.
- Five (5) to eight (8) years of business banking, commercial banking, or comparable financial services experience required.
- Proven track record of commercial loan origination, underwriting, and relationship management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a formal commercial credit training program.
- Strong understanding of commercial lending regulations, credit risk assessment, and loan structuring.
- Demonstrated business development and networking skills.
- Experience speaking at business, industry, or small business events.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Required Work Hours
Monday - Friday
Upon completion of 90 days incumbent may work hybrid schedule.

Additional Details
Pay Range: $90,000 - $130,000 annually
